In
the last three years So L'il has released a 6-song self-titled EP, one
split 7-inch with the band Timesbold, both on Neko Records, a full length
entitled "Revolution Thumpin" and now "Dear kathy,".
The beat drops, the groove kicks and the organic electronic soul hits
you like a hazy illumination, foreign yet familiar. Something you've been
waiting to hear your entire life, but have never heard before, not like
this. Not this revolution thumpin... Listening to So L'il is like floating
through the enchanted, apocalyptic, neon pop New York City of the future,
a droning space hazed place where electronic dreams drift amid debris
of nostalgia for a future we already inhabit. So L'il is a Brooklyn-based
band employing keyboardz, duel female & male vocals, beatz, &
weird noises. They make electronic soul music, love drones, and are pop,
like Motown. |
