The Superions (Fred Schneider of the B-52’s new project) will have their debut EP out on CD and in stores Tuesday February 23rd. The 12″ version will be delayed by a week, but should be available at your local mom and pop record shop by March 2nd. The EP features 3 originals and 4 remixes (Casper & the Cookies, the Lolligags, Marshmallow Coast, and Ursula 1000). There is still a little time to get one of the PREMIUM Pre-Order versions that comes with the CD / 12″ / button / keychain / autographed LP sleeve / and answering machine message. Only available till next Monday at midnight. Fred is being a real good sport and helping us out by doing loads of press. He’ll be on the Howard Stern show next week, he’s guest editing Magnet this week, doing CMJ’s tv program, doing a radio show with the legendary Tothar in Cleveland on Luxuriamusic.com on Sunday night 10 PM eastern on February 21st, has interviews coming up in the New Gay, the Onion, and loads more. Oh yeah he’s also Dj’ing and hosting the “Spring Thang Bingo Dance Party” on March 5th at the Gold Room in Atlanta, GA to raise money for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame & Pets are Loving Support . The Superions “The Superions” EP is now available for download at most digital services today. The EP features 3 new tracks Totally Nude Island, Those Sexy Saucer Gals, and Who Threw That Ham at Me along with 4 remixes by Ursula 1000, the Lolligags, Casper & the Cookies, and Marshmallow Coast. The physical copies on CD & 12″ will be available on February 22nd.

I know this has taken forever to post, but we had some delays in the project, but now it’s time for the big news. HHBTM will be releasing “The Superions” EP by the Superions, the new project by Fred Schneider (of the B-52’s) , Noah Brodie, and Dan Marshall. The CD EP & 12” features 3 new originals “Totally Nude Island”, “Who Threw that Ham at Me”, and “Those Sexy Saucer Gals” along with 4 remixes by Ursula 1000, the Lolligags, Casper & the Cookies, and Marshmallow Coast. The tracks will be available digitally on January 19th, 2010, and the CD & 12” will be available on February 16th, 2010. HHBTM is currently taking pre-orders with many different package deals. You can order just the CD or 12”, or get them together, or together with a button and keychain, or the deluxe package that features, both the CD, the 12”, a button, a keychain, an autographed silkscreen sleeve, and a personal answering machine message by the Superions. You can check out the video for the Ursula 1000 remix of “Totally Nude Island” on the HHBTM blog, and there will be a video for “Who Threw That Ham at Me” shortly. All 12”s will come with a free digital download of the EP.

In other news, all the Sourpatch pre-orders on LP will ship on December 28th. Also all bonus pre-order stuff for the Sourpatch CD and LP is currently spoken for. They will be touring this spring and summer so hit them up via email or myspace and tell them to come to your town. Oh yeah, all the Sourpatch LP’s will come with a free digital download of the album. (Thanks Chris Mac for working out how to do that for us).

Cars Can Be Blue “All the Stuff We Do” is currently being repressed on LP with a mid February release date. The CD is nearly gone, so if you don’t have it, you better order it real soon.

The Smittens “The Coolest Thing About Love” is being pressed on vinyl this spring. A pre-order will be available at the end of January.

Hey Folks,
I know it’s just been a very short time since the last update, but there has been a few new things come in distro wise, a new item, and new signings.

The Sourpatch “Crushin” pre-order has been going great. There are only a few totes left, so if you want the pre-order goodies you better hurry. The CDs will be in roughly the 2nd week of December with shipments going out right after Christmas. The LPs will be in at the end of December with shipments going out the first week of January if all goes well.

I added a new item. The HHBTM 2009 Button Set. Basically 6 buttons from the bands with new releases in 2009 (Forever, Marshmallow Coast, Casper & the Cookies, the Lovely Eggs, Bunnygrunt, & the Afternoon Naps) on a backer card.

Titans of Filth have a video for “Our Impending Announcement” up at the site and on the label blog. The Titans are from Athens, GA, and look for their debut vinyl release on HHBTM in spring of 2010.

On Monday there will be a huge announcement on the HHBTM site and big pre-order, so be sure to check back.

NEW DISTRO ITEMS
I have a few new distro items. These are all limited to just a few copies at the site, so I wouldn’t wait around long. These releases are all from the Uk so I only get a few copies at a time.

the Smittens / Just Joans – split 7″ (wee pop) limited to 500 copies. Both bands cover a song from each other plus one new original each. on thick pink vinyl.

Stamp Out the Loneliness – Pacific Trash Vortex / Cellophane 7″ (wiaiwya) sounds a bit like Nico fronting a more poppy version of Stereolab. both songs from the single are at their myspace. on nice thick powder blue vinyl.

Eux Autres – “Strangled Days” 10″ (wiaiwya) 4 news tracks wrapped in a poster sleeve and on think black vinyl.

Shrag – “Shrag” CD (wiaiwya) boy / girl shouty pop ala bearsuit but more on the noisy end. if you like huggy bear you’ll love shrag.

The Bunnygrunt pre-orders have all finally shipped along with all the Afternoon Naps pre-orders. Sorry again for the massive delay. I’m now out of Bunnygrunt doll sets. I still have one or two of the Afternoon Naps pillowcases though. If you know anyone who is wanting a HHBTM 2007-9 singles club set, then they need to hurry as I only have 9 sets left. I’m not repressing the club so once it’s gone it’s gone for good. Most of the over run singles from the club are almost gone as well. If you haven’t done so already go check out the Marshmallow Coast podcast. Andy plays some of his favorite records and answers a bunch of interview questions. It looks like I’ll be doing one of these podcasts in the near future. Already thinking about what records I want to bring. The Tunabunny / Hulaboy split 12″ is now available, HHBTM and 555 split the pressing of 200 copies so get them while you can. We skipped the digital download on the record, but it does come with a CD of the songs. Distro wise we got in the Mj Hibbett disc all the way from the UK. It’s rather good, funny without being dumb more along the lines of Tullycraft snark meets Wedding Present. The Boyracer “Happenstance” LP is now out of print. I can’t believe it took 10 months to sell 50 copies. Cars Can Be Blue “All the Stuff We Do” LP is also out of print. We are doing a repressing, so it will be back in stock later this winter. Speaking of Cars Can Be Blue their case on Judge Judy was thrown out, apparently you can’t say Suck It on national tv. I’m going to Nashville for the weekend, so more news when I get back.

Not much happened this week outside of psuedomaria winning the bunnygrunt & afternoon naps preorders. Next Friday’s give away is going to be a copy of each CD release on HHBTM that has been released since Jan 2008 which includes Bearsuit, Keith John Adams, Cars Can Be Blue, the Smittens, Hotpants Romance, Lolligags, Forever, Marshmallow Coast, Casper & the Cookies, Bunnygrunt, Afternoon Naps, and the Lovely Eggs. All you have to do to be entered to win is join the HHBTM newsgroup (link at the bottom of the site). The Bunnygrunt LPs are in, I’m now hoping to have the dolls finished by the middle of next week and ready to ship hopefully by the end of the week. The Afternoon Naps LPs are still being finished, so I’m hoping to ship this out in a week to 10 days. If you haven’t pre-ordered the Afternoon Naps “Parade” CD or LP that comes with the pillow case you should do so real soon, and I’m down to the last copies. (pic of the LP sleeve, CD and pillowcase below). The Tunabunny / Hulaboy split is held up another 2 to 3 weeks due to a pop on the Tunabunny side. A new plate is being made now. I have also listed up a bunch of extra copies or over-run copies of some of the singles club singles. Some singles didn’t have any extras, so if you hurry you might get the one single you want or need. Also I have had a few clubs returned to me from bad addresses, and I haven’t been able to get in touch with their owners to get their new addresses. So please if your name is listed below, or you know one of the people listed below have them email me….Lace Durant, John Thomason, William Lyon, William Bromfield, Matthew Mannering. Sorry about that, but all pressing plants are super swamped now that vinyl is so back in fashion. Also new items from Horowitz will be added to the distro this weekend as well as some singles club singles which I have a slight overrun of. (note: both tullycraft/smittens & andy from denver/red pony clock were the singles which had an under-run, so no luck if you wanted those.) More news later.

After nearly a year of planning and procrastinating the new HHBTM site is finally here. There is still a bit of filling in info wise that has to be done, but Chris Mac at indiepages has really out done himself and created a site that I can even update. HHBTM celebrated it’s 10th birthday last weekend, and I just wanted to say thanks to all those that came out to support us. We gave away party hats and buttons on all three nights. The High Water Marks never made it down which was a bummer, but then again out of the three times I’ve booked them they haven’t been able to make it to Athens so it wasn’t a huge surprise. I’m going to be doing a series of give aways and promotions over the next 12 weeks. I’m going to randomly pick a name from the HHBTM newsgroup and then email that person and get their address so I can send them that week’s give away. So go to the button at the bottom of the page and subscribe to the HHBTM newsletter. I post maybe once a month, but I plan to start doing lots of give aways, and newsgroup only releases, so if you like the label you’ll want to join. The first give away is going to be a full singles club subscription w/ all the bonus goodies. I’m going to pick a name on Friday, so sign up now.

The Lovely Eggs & Cars Can Be Blue are currently on tour through the Northeast so go look for tour dates on the Tour Calendar. I’ve posted all the dates I have for the HHBTM roster through December.

HHBTM has also signed a few new bands starting with the Superions, Tunabunny, Titans of Filth, and Sourpatch. We’ll be releasing a Superions 12″ in late fall. If you didn’t know the Superions features Fred Schneider of the B-52’s and the single will feature 3 Superions tracks and a few remixes. Titans of Filth are currently recording their debut long player which will be vinyl and download only with an early 2010 release date. Sourpatch are currently working on the artwork finishing touches for their debut long player due out in just a few months. Tunabunny have a split 12″ w/ Hulaboy coming out in the next month, and then a debut long player later in the year.

HHBTM is also sad to announce that the Lolligags have put a hold on their debut album and at this time are on an extended hiatus. Too bad as the record was really sounding great. Maybe I can get them to change their mind, we’ll just have to see.

For anyone who has not got in their Bunnygrunt or Afternoon Naps preorders please do so real soon, as I only have a few Afternoon Naps pillow cases, and I’ve stopped taking orders on Bunnygrunt doll sets, but you can still get a random Bunnygrunt doll with your preorder.

Also I have some singles club sets left, get them while you can and before they start popping up on ebay. I had held aside some clubs for distros to offer to mom and pop stores, but held aside a few too many, so I still have a few available.

Oh yeah, distro items….we’ve added new items by Fishboy, Dum Dum Girls, Hollywood Gossip, and both Smittens pre-HHBTM titles are back in stock.

It’s been ages since the last news update. I guess the website just kinda slipped my mind once the label blog started last year. This update will be the last one before the website gets a full redo. This design has been great, but it’s time for a bit of new. It will be updated a few times a week once the new site is up, as I’ll actually be doing the updates instead of bugging our good friend and web master Chris about it. Chris has been super rad doing the site over the last few years, and he’s still in control of all tech stuff, but not having to bug him with this stuff will be nice. So with that let’s jump right in.

We have added some new bands to the roster over the last year including Hotpants Romance & the Lovely Eggs from the UK, Tunabunny from Athens, GA, Forever from Portland, OR via San Francisco, CA, and the Afternoon Naps from good ole’ Cleveland, OH. We’ve lost a few bands along the way as well, Patience Please called it a day just as they were getting going, but 3 of the 4 members found themselves in a new band Iji. Baby Calendar called it quits right before Athens Popfest 2007. The Love Letter Band aka Bad Weather California will be releasing their new album on States Rights Records shortly. (we hope to have a few copies at the HHBTM distro really soon) Ideal Free Distribution had some line up changes and released an amazing follow up record the middle of last year on their own Color Wheel Records.

Since the last update we had our biggest Athens PopFest to date last August and decided to take a year off doing one in 2009. We released new records by the Smittens “the Coolest Thing About Love”, Cars Can Be Blue “Doubly Unbeatable”, Hotpants Romance “It’s a Heatwave”, the Lolligags ‘Out of Peversity Join Hands”, and Forever “Forever”. We also jumped back into the vinyl LP world with vinyl pressings of Cars Can Be Blue “All the Stuff We Do” and Boyracer “Happenstance”.

Which now brings us up to the now and close future. The last five singles of the HHBTM singles club are set to ship starting sometime in May and will take a few weeks to get all the subscriptions out to everyone. Two of the singles are completely done, and another two are at the plant with the fifth and final single set to go into the plant in two weeks. I’m also finishing up the bonus 150 stuff for the early subscribers. The club will be mailed out in order of the first 150 subscribers, the non-150 american subscribers, the non-150 overseas subscribers, and then the last mail out will be the recent subscribers over the last year. It will take about two to three weeks to get all the clubs shipped out.

We have new releases coming this May by Casper & the Cookies “Modern Silence” CD (pre-order coming soon) & Marshmallow Coast “Phreak Phantasy” on CD & LP with a cool preorder for the first 50 folks where Andy will be doing a small painting for them. We also have some cool stuff coming up this summer as well…new CD/LP by Bunnygrunt & the Afternoon Naps, LP by Fishboy, CD by the Lovely Eggs, Girl Band CD compilation and zine, Tunabunny / Hulaboy split 12”, HHBTM100 box set, loads of HHBTM items, zines, and cassettes in the works as well.

We also have a showcase at this years’ Athfest on June 26th at Cine w/ Casper & the Cookies, Marshmallow Coast, cars Can Be Blue, Tunabunny, & Forever. We will also be throwing a three day 10 year birthday party event August 27th – 29th at the Caledonia Lounge in Athens w/ 15 bands from the present and past HHBTM roster. HHBTM is also well represented at other great indie-pop events this summer as well with Casper & the Cookies, Afternoon Naps, Eux Autres, and the Smittens playing NYC PopFest. Bunnygrunt, Eux Autres, and the Smittens are playing the San Francisco PopFest. The Smittens, Eux Autres, and the Lovely Eggs will be playing at IndieTracks in the UK this summer as well. Also be on the watch for a great showcase for this year at CMJ too.

Oh yeah, when the new website launches hopefully sometime in April there will be 4 big giveaways the first month the new site goes live.
